Sexual Health for Men

HOW DOES CIALIS WORK?

Cialis (Tadalafil) is used to treat male sexual function problems (impotence or erectile dysfunction-ED). In combination with sexual stimulation, tadalafil works by increasing blood flow to the penis to help a man get and keep an erection.

Tadalafil is also used to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia-BPH). It helps to relieve symptoms of BPH such as difficulty in beginning the flow of urine, weak stream, and the need to urinate frequently or urgently (including during the middle of the night). Tadalafil is thought to work by relaxing the smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder.

This drug does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIVhepatitis Bgonorrheasyphilis). Practice "safe sex" such as using latex condoms. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

HOW DOES VIAGRA WORK?

VIAGRA helps guys with ED get and keep an erection.
And it’s been shown to effectively treat ED in guys who have certain other medical conditions. So be sure to tell your doctor about your medical conditions and medications so he can choose the right dose for you. VIAGRA works for men with erectile dysfunction (ED) by increasing blood flow to the penis so you can get and keep an erection hard enough for sex. Individual results may vary. It’s been proven to help guys with all degrees of ED. VIAGRA usually starts to work within 30-60 minutes. And you only take it when you need it. VIAGRA works only when you are sexually stimulated. You may take it up to 4 hours before sexual activity. So don’t worry. There's no need to rush. After sex? Your erection should go away. In the rare event of an erection lasting more than 4 hours, seek immediate medical help to avoid long-term injury.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CIALIS AND VIAGRA?

Cialis and Viagra are both PDE5 inhibitors used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). Both only work when a man is sexually aroused. Cialis lasts for around 36 hours compared with only 4 to 5 hours for Viagra. Food does not affect the activity of Cialis, whereas food may decrease the effectiveness of Viagra. Cialis can be used once daily, at a smaller dosage, and is also effective at treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Dosage of Cialis may need to be reduced in men with liver or kidney problems and risk of interactions may be higher than with Viagra.

HOW TO USE CIALIS

Read the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist before you start taking tadalafil and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Take this medication by mouth, with or without food, as directed by your doctor. Do not take tadalafil more often than once daily.

The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other medications you may be taking. Be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).

To treat the symptoms of BPH, take this medication as directed by your doctor, usually once a day. If you are also taking finasteride with this medication to treat symptoms of BPH, talk with your doctor about how long you should continue taking this medication.

To treat erectile dysfunction-ED, there are 2 ways that tadalafil may be prescribed. Your doctor will determine which is the best way for you to take tadalafil. Follow your doctor's directions exactly since your dosage depends on how you are taking it. The first way is to take it as needed, usually at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. Tadalafil's effect on sexual ability may last up to 36 hours.

The second way to treat ED is to take tadalafil regularly, once a day every day. If you take it this way, you may attempt sexual activity at any time between your doses.

If you are taking tadalafil to treat both ED and BPH, take it as directed by your doctor, usually once a day. You may attempt sexual activity at any time between your doses.

If you are taking tadalafil once daily for BPH, or for ED, or for both, take it regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.

WHO SHOULD NOT TAKE VIAGRA?

Do not take VIAGRA if you:

  • Take medicines called “nitrates” (such as nitroglycerin)

  • Use street drugs called “poppers,” such as amyl nitrate or amyl nitrite, and butyl nitrate

  • Take medicines called guanylate cyclase stimulators such as Adempas (riociguat)

  • Are allergic to sildenafil, as contained in VIAGRA and REVATIO, or any of the ingredients in VIAGRA. See the Patient Information for a complete list of ingredients in VIAGRA

VIAGRA  AND DRUG INTERACTIONS

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

VIAGRA may affect the way other medicines work, and other medicines may affect the way VIAGRA works, causing side effects. Especially tell your healthcare provider if you take any of the following:

  • Medicines called nitrates

  • Medicines called guanylate cyclase stimulators such as Adempas (riociguat)

  • Medicines called alpha-blockers, such as Hytrin (terazosin HCl), Flomax (tamsulosin HCl), Cardura (doxazosin mesylate), Minipress (prazosin HCl), Uroxatral (alfuzosin HCl), Jalyn (dutasteride and tamsulosin HCl), or Rapaflo (silodosin). Alpha-blockers are sometimes prescribed for prostate problems or high blood pressure. In some patients, the use of VIAGRA with alpha-blockers can lead to a drop in blood pressure or to fainting

  • Medicines called HIV protease inhibitors, such as ritonavir (Norvir), indinavir sulfate (Crixivan), saquinavir (Fortovase or Invirase), or atazanavir sulfate (Reyataz)

  • Some types of oral antifungal medicines, such as ketoconazole (Nizoral) and itraconazole (Sporanox)

  • Some types of antibiotics, such as clarithromycin (Biaxin), telithromycin (Ketek), or erythromycin

  • Other medicines that treat high blood pressure

  • Other medicines or treatments for ED

VIAGRA contains sildenafil, which is the same medicine found in another drug called REVATIO. REVATIO is used to treat a rare disease called pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). VIAGRA should not be used with REVATIO or with other PAH treatments containing sildenafil or any other PDE5 inhibitors (such as Adcirca [tadalafil])

P Shot

Platelet Rich Plasma contains many growth and healing factors. PRP has regenerative abilities and thus stimulates healing and rejuvenation. The resulting benefits typically include tissue growth that increases growth of new blood vessels, improves circulation within the penis, stronger erections, increased sensation, more pleasure, and enhanced sexual performance. Some men report changes in girth and length of the penis. Many of these benefits are experienced immediately after receiving the injection.

Since the treatment uses the patient’s own blood derived plasma, it is nonallergenic and free of harmful side effects.

Treatment plans for optimal sexual wellness are tailored to suit each man’s individual needs and every man’s experience will vary. Most men report these benefits following the procedure and post-treatment protocol:

â—† Increased firmness of erection

â—† Increased blood flow and circulation

â—† Improved sexual capabilities

â—† Increased sexual stamina

â—† Increased sensation and pleasure

â—† Enhanced appearance & vascularity
